I won’t deny that there are some people who have health insurance that may not have otherwise, but it came at the expense of others who no longer can afford it. Conservatives could make the case that people are going to die because of Obamacare. There are less people insured now than if Obamacare had never been passed.
Remember the great economic collapse of 2008? Millions of people lost their jobs…and their health insurance. When the Democrats try to make the argument that Obamacare has allowed millions of people to get health insurance, they always compare to this specific low point. It’s a bogus stat that is doctored for propaganda purposes. As the economy recovered and the unemployment rate went down, guess what happened? More people gained health insurance because they got a job. If you actually compare the number of people today who have health insurance to 2007 there are many millions more uninsured than before. Why? Because covering sick people has drove insurance rates sky high. Imagine what would happen to auto insurance if you could wait until you had an accident to buy a policy.
