I was out on a run last weekend and about two miles into a five mile route, I remembered that I had forgotten to put some clothes in the washer which I wanted to wear for a date later. I still had time to wash them if I remembered to start the machine as soon as I got back to my house from a run.
But with another 3 miles to go there would be so many random thoughts popping into my head that I worried I would forget. Plus, when I get back from a run all I can think about is getting something to drink and taking a shower. On a lark, I raised my watch and said “Hey Siri, remind me when I get home to wash my laundry”. And it worked! As I was walking up to my house I got the familiar buzz on my wrist and my watch reminded me that I needed to start a load of laundry. Brilliant!
I was so happy to get that reminder. And it made me appreciate my Apple Watch all the more. I instantly thought about other ways I could use this for when I go to work, or to a favorite park, etc.
It’s these little thing that improve the quality of my life that always prevents any kind of buyers remorse with tech devices from Apple. Yes an Apple Watch costs hundreds of dollars. But when I stumble upon yet another feature that made my day better, I don’t think about what I paid for it. I’m just glad I have it.
