It’s almost a true statement for me to say that the only thing I really want from the next iPhone is a 120hz refresh rate for the screen. This feature is that good.
When I upgraded to my iPad Pro I discovered that the Promotion display made my iPhone scrolling look horrible. Scrolling on my iPad Pro was so smooth, that I developed a habit of reading text while I slowly scrolled the screen upwards. When I tried to do the same on my iPhone, it was impossible to read. Scrolling made the text all fuzzy and jumpy due to the slower refresh rate.
Because I like to read on my portable devices, this is the most important feature that Apple could bring to the iPhone. Now, if you’re the type of person who only watches video or plays games on your iPhone, this may not matter as much to you. Fine, but I believe that it’s a provable fact that there is a direct correlation between reading and intelligence. Just kidding.
Or maybe your eyes are so bad that even slow smooth scrolling makes text illegible. In which case, a 120hz refresh rate still won’t make a difference. I feel sorry for you people. Like people who are color blind, there is nothing that can be done for you. But don’t say that 120hz is a meaningless feature, because for most people, it’s the most exciting thing coming.
