Samsung's Incredible Speed
SamMobile is reporting that Samsung is going to ship it’s upcoming Galaxy S8 with it’s own intelligent assistance named Bixby. Talk about moving fast. They only acquired this assistant from Hartman a few weeks ago.
Is anybody else asking how Samsung could possibly purchase an entirely independent company and integrate their software into their phones in a matter of six months? If the Galaxy S8 is going to ship in March, it would actually need to be complete a few weeks prior in order to load on the production units. This smacks of the same old Samsung who favors speed over quality. I have a hard time imagining how they could possibly get all those interfaces working by the time the S8 is launched.
But even if Samsung could pull it off. Should they? Wouldn’t it be confusing for people to have two separate voice assistants? I would assume that these phones will also have Google's assistant as well. It strikes me as as a recipe for disaster to have situations where two voice assistants could inadvertently be triggered. Or tempers could flare if you try to summon the wrong voice assistant and nothing happens.
I thought that maybe we’d see a new reformed Samsung after their phones started setting houses on fire. So far, it's not looking that way.
