According to the Woz, the software was just to wonky for him. Listen to him speak about how his Tesla would just start braking at random with no warning. That is incredibly dangerous. Even a techie like Steve who is used to bleeding edge technology decided that enough is enough.
He’s driving a Lucid Air now. And probably feeling much safer. But this brings up something I’ve noticed about Tesla recently. I actually know more FORMER owners of Tesla than I do people who actually drive them. People get so fed up with either the quality or the lack of customer service that they either go back to a gas-powered vehicle or they switch to some other brand of EV.
I’ve worked in the automotive industry to a top tier supplier to GM, Honda, and Toyota. I know that nothing correlates more with long term market success than quality. An area in which Tesla is sorely lacking.
